SPEED POST by Shobha De            This is a really amazing book I have read so far. It is about the confessions of a mother to her six children via writing letters to them. It contains six chapters with catchy taglines which provokes the reader to read ahead and find out what must be within the chapter. The book attracted me in the first few lines itself as the opening goes “ Letters to my children about living, loving, caring and coping with the world”.... “For a life-sentence of hard but joyful labour”.               The author clearly justifies her actions and explains the context behind each of her significant behaviour. Even though her eldest son who is a step son, she treats him equal dignity here and has brought about the best ever possible attribute to his character. Each page of the book while flipping gives us a reminder of how our mother’s have toiled hard to bring us up. LADYO Today the scenario of south Indian media and films portray a great deal of thematic representation of love. The meaning of love is narrowed to that of a boy-girl relationship. That is what being labelled even in the minds of young children who are made to visualise in the television advertisements strongly. Due to this the connotation of the word love is strongly misunderstood even by our earlier generation, who now fear and sturdily repel from the basic idea of friendship with the opposite gender.
